The Eagles suffer a tough loss to East Grand Rapids Pioneers 40 - 43

What a great atmosphere at the Quest Center tonight. The Eagles started out slow in the 1st quarter due to the Pioneers controlling the tempo. The Eagles fell behind early down 7- 6 to end the quarter. The Eagles kept the game close going into the half trailing 14-23. This was the Eagles lowest point total going into halftime.
In the second half, the Eagles made some adjustments to create more tempo in the 3rd quarter. The Eagles continued to play hard and went on a 20-10 run to take a one point lead in the 3rd quarter 34-33. The Eagles lost their offensive rhythm in the 4th quarter whille only scoring 6 points. The Pioneers were able to capitalize of the Eagles lack of offense in the 4th quarter and go on to get the win 43-40.
Dono Thames lead the way with 13 points. Juniors Nate Johnson and Jaylan Ouwinga both added 10 points apiece. The Eagles will take the floor on the road next Friday vs the Lowell Red Arrows.
