The Eagles get an important win tonight over the Ionia Bulldogs.  The Eagles would have a tough time scoring in the 1st quarter where they would trial in the 1st quarter down 11-5.  The Eagles would make a run in the 2nd quarter to take a three point lead at the half 21-18. It was a slow defensive battle in the 1st half for both teams.  

In the 3rd quarter, the Eagles were able to make a push with their stifling defense.  The defense would be the answer again for the Eagles holding the Bulldogs to 6 points in the quarter. The Eagles would score 14 points in the quarter to take a 35-24 lead into the 4th quarter.  The Bulldogs would have a tough time with the Eagles hard nose defense in the 4th quarter as well. The Eagles would only give up 18 points in the second half which would secure the win 51 - 36. The Eagles win back to back district championship.

Junior Jaylan Ouwinga was a force inside finishing with a game high 17 points.  Senior Dono Thames finished with 12 points while Junior Nate Johnson chipped in with 10 points. The Eagles will be at Unity Christian on Monday for their 1st regional game.  The Eagles move to 19-5 on the season.
