At one of the best run and most fun events we have attended, the Corporal B Invitational at American Dunes Golf Club, the Eagles battled their way to a 4th place finish amongst a very strong field of teams. Finishing as the top team from Division 2 was a great step in the right direction for this team as we shot a 304. Northville HS won the event with a 300, Detroit Catholic Central was secon with a 302, and Ann Arbor Skyline 3rd with a 303. 

Leading the scoring for the Eagles was sophomore John Cassiday with a 74 (T9th overall). Also scoring for GRC was freshman Cooper Reitsma with a 76, freshman Sawyer O'Grady and Junior Dylan Clark each with a 77, and rounding out the team scoring was junior Max O'Grady with a 78. Great play overall for the Eagles. 

Most notably was that each team played for an American Hero. Our Hero was Captain John Patrick Noesen, grandfather of Parker Noesen. Captain John Patrick Noesen served in the military for 10 years with the marine corps. He was part of the fighting fifth Marine Division and served 365 days in Vietnam, flying more than 300 missions during that time. As it says on the walls at American Dunes, "Freedom is not free." Many people have fought and died for our freedoms. John is still alive and well and we were honored to play for him and his family today.  

The team plays two Jamborees this week before heading to Forest Dunes (Roscommon, MI) for The Loop Classic on Friday. Go Eagles!
