Boys Varsity Soccer fall short in Conference Semi-final to Forest Hills Northern

FOREST HILLS NORTHERN HIGH: 5
The Forest Hills Northern Huskies came to Eagle Stadium on Wednesday evening to face the varsity Eagles soccer team in the OK White semi-finals. The Huskies were eager to avenge an earlier loss to the Eagles and struck early, gaining a 3-0 advantage before the Eagles were able to get on the board on an individual effort from senior Nick Cassiday. Just as the Eagles looked to be mounting a comeback, the Huskies struck again, putting the Eagles in a 4-1 deficit prior at the half.
The Eagles fought and scrapped in the 2nd half before conceding a penalty kick goal to raise the deficit to 5-1 in the 2nd half. Senior Drew deBoer struck back with a shot to the upper corner of the Huskies net in the closing minutes of the match to close the gap to 5-2, but the Eagles would not be able to make it any closer.
The Eagles will play an important match on Monday night at Eagle Stadium for 3rd place in the conference tournament before beginning their district play next Wednesday.
