The Eagles Varsity team traveled to T.K. Middleville for their season opener in wet and cold Spring conditions. Kailynn Grieve got the season off to a quick start pressuring the T.K. goalie to create a scoring opportunity and putting the Eagles up 1-0 in the first ten minutes. The rain picked up and the first half saw a lot of back and forth action sending teams into halftime with the 1-0 score holding. 

T.K. came out strong following the halftime break and scored two goals within the first 20 minutes of the second half putting them up 2-1. The Eagles were resilient and started to put pressure on T.K.'s back four resulting in a corner kick opportunity. Emma VanGoor found a way through the traffic to connect with a bouncing ball in the box and she put the Eagles back to even with T.K. at 2-2. The scoring chances continued to come for GRC with Grieve taking a strike from distance and nearly scoring as time ran down. In the end, T.K. found a way to connect in the box for a goal with 90 seconds remaining. The Eagles fell to T.K. 3-2 after a great back and forth battle. 

The Eagles will be back in action for a home game (Eagles Stadium) before Spring Break on Monday, March 28 at 7:30pm.
