The Varsity Girls Soccer team traveled to Byron Center last night. The game started off at a high pace and saw the Eagles behind by a goal after a turnover deep in their own half. The Bulldogs piled on waves of pressure with multiple balls in behind down the wings. Eagles keeper Olivia May was up to the task keeping the team within reach. With 3 minutes left the half, Grand Rapids Christian had two beautiful opportunities within the Bulldogs 6-yard bow but were unable to capitalize. Halftime saw the Eagles go to the locker room down 2-0

The second half started out with two quick goals by the home team seeing the deficit widened 4-0. With t30 minutes left in the game the Eagles put their foot down and began asserting themselves winning over loose balls and gaining more possession than the home team.  After multiple break-throughs the Eagles were able to find the net after Senior Kailynn Grieve got in behind the home team's defense and found Junior Kate LaRue who slotted it home into the side net from 18 yards. The pressure continued to pile onto the Bulldogs but in the end, the Eagles ran out of time and the game finished 4-1

The Eagles host Greenville at Gainey Field, Wednesday at 6:15PM.
