It was a perfect day for Tennis at Zandee Tennis Courts and a perfect day for the Eagles to begin OK Conference play.  The Eagles were perfect against the visiting Sailors from South Christian, winning 8-0.  Sophomore Simon Volkema was dominant at #1 Singles, winning 6-0, 6-1.  Junior Alex Lowell was equal to the task at #2, with identical scores.  Sophomore Alex Cook followed suit at #3 dropping only one game.  Senior Jack Long came through with a grueling 6-3, 6-4 win at #4 singles, closing out the night as both teams watched the incredible battle of attrition. 

There were similar results on the Doubles front for the Eagles as the exciting team of Sophomore Tanner Warners and Junior Grant Moorhead steamrolled the Sailors at #1 without dropping a game.  At #2, Seniors Eli Kuiper and Devin Meeuwsen won 6-2, 6-1, joining fellow Senior Daniel Betten teamed up with Sophomore Sam VanSchepen at #3 winning 6-3, 6-4. Finally, winning their first conference Varsity match at #4 doubles, Senior Owen Greer and Sophomore Cade Boender easily defeated the Sailors 6-0, 6-1 to close out a perfect match on a perfect night for the Eagles.

This dynamic and exciting Eagles squad travels to Zeeland on Saturday for important regional matchups against Whitehall, Zeeland East and Spring Lake.  Next week, they travel to East Grand Rapids for an important conference matchup against the Pioneers on Wednesday with state tournament implications.
