The Wolves of Wyoming played host to the Eagles in an OK Gold Conference matchup Monday at beautiful Lamar Park. GRC was tough on the hosts however, beating them soundly 8-0. Simon Volkema, Alex Lowell, Alex Cook and Eli Kuiper all won their Singles matches without dropping a game. Ethan Deblecourt, Cade Boender, Owen Greer, Sam VanSchepen, Charlie Walters, Devin Meeuwsen, Dan Betten, Grant Moorhead and Tanner Warners followed suit in the Doubles matches, dropping only one game combined.
After the match, the Eagles became the hosts, bringing a dinner of hotdogs, chips, and some awesome brownies to share with their opponents. It was a wonderful display of sportsmanship and camaraderie too often invisible or unreported in high school athletics.
Next up for the Eagles is another OK Gold matchup as the Wayland Wildcats travel north to Gainey on Wednesday. Match time is set for 4:00.
