The Eagles Varsity Tennis Team jumped into the deep end to start their season, traveling to Sturgis to take on the State Champion and Runner-Up, along with two other Top 10 Division 3 teams, and a Top 5 Division 2 Team from a year ago.  

Undaunted, the Eagles finished third behind Cranbrook Kingswood and Ann Arbor Greenhills, the Champion and Runner-Up last season, and beat Midland Dow who finished 5th in Division 2 a year ago. Leading the day were Seniors Tanner Warners and Dream Kwon, who beat Greenhills in their first match of their season and followed it up by beating Cranbrook the very next match en route to the #1 Doubles Title. 4 other flights finished third: Senior Simon Volkema at #1 Singles edged Midland Dow, Senior Alex Cook held off Sturgis at #2 Singles, Seniors Cade Boender and Charlie Walters shut down Forest Hills Eastern at #2 Doubles, and Seniors Sam VanSchepen and Ethan DeBlecourt rounded out the third place finishers.  

The Eagles quickly turned around to play the Michigan State Invitational the following day.
