It was a good day for the Eagles at Zandee Courts at Gainey on Wednesday. The Eagles (ranked 5th in Division 3) tied the Rangers from FHC (ranked 7th in Division 2) after 8 hard-fought matches.
Simon Volkema won at 1-Singles in a spirited affair, 6-3, 7-5. Lucas Pinon followed suit at 3-Singles, winning a tight match 7-6 (7-5), 7-5. Callum Campbell had an awesome match against his opponent at 4-Singles, winning the first Eagle point at 6-2, 6-0.
Cade Boender and Charlie Walters had to secure the tie with a tough, hard-fought match, finishing in the twilight by gutting out a 3-set victory 6-3, 6-7 (4-7), 6-3 with both teams watching and cheering them on. It was an awesome sight and an awesome win for two Seniors who stepped up when needed to gain the tie for the Eagles.
In the toughest conference in the state, the Eagles are well-tested and ready for the post-season, beginning on Friday at the OK-White conference tournament, hosted by FHC>
