Varsity Boys Lacrosse

With the philosophy, of getting better by playing better teams the Eagles Varsity Laxers hosted the Tier 1 Cougars of Grand Rapids Catholic Central at their nest Tuesday evening. While the outcome was not a surprise, judging by their demeanor on the sidelines the Cougar coaching staff was very surprised with the effort the low on manpower Eagles put out.

A Herculean effort was made by rookie Senior Goaltender Logan Sutliff. Facing an incredible 47 shots Logan only let 13 passed for an outstanding 72% save percentage. To say he was residing "en Fuego" was an understatement.

The Eagles never gave up, having their strongest quarter in the 4th. Colin Wildman picked up a goal against his Catholic school rivals with a rocket from the top of the box. Along with fellow West Catholic Junior Erik Mileski sneaking one by the CC tender. Sophomore Brock Grieve notched two goals on his shaft with Sophmore Luke Afman contributing 2 assists, and Senior Anthony Better contributing another assist. Another heroic performance came from rookie Face-Off specialist Freshman Ben Toly tying up the Cougar Specialist at the faceoff X, and limiting the potent fast break he is known for.
