Eagles Varsity Girls’ Lacrosse - Eagles Varsity fell to Hudsonville, trailing 11-14. Goals were scored by Lili Bouwma (4), Niya Couch (2), Halle Couch (2), Sophie Israels (2), and Kiera Zylstra. Assists were credited to Halle Couch and Niya Couch with 2 feeds each, as well as Lili Bouwma and Sophie Israels. Midfielder Elizabeth Mehney was credited with winning 10 draws and controlling 4 draws. Freshman goalie Katie Hoeksema was credited with 14 saves. Defensive player of the game was Annelle Dykema for her work on defense, picking up balls in the scrum and keeping girls covered in the 8m. The team’s Ground Hog Award was given to Niya Couch and Annelle Dykema, both with 5 ground balls. With 2 assists each, Niya Couch and Halle Couch were awarded Laxister of the game. Way to go Eagles!!
