Eagles Varsity Girls’ Lacrosse - In the sweltering heat, Eagles Varsity falls to Forest Hills Central, trailing 12-16. Goals were scored by Niya Couch (5), Lili Bouwma (4), and Kiera Zylstra (2), and Rylee Sigler. Attacker Niya Couch was credited with winning 7 draws and controlling 6. In the first half, freshman goalie Katie Hoeksema was credited with 4 saves. In the second half, sophomore goalie Annika DeKraker was credited with 2 saves. Defensive player of the game was Maggie Doyle for her hustle throughout the defensive end of the field, also pressuring ball throughout the whole of the midfield. The team’s Ground Hog Award was awarded to Niya Couch with 5 ground balls. With 4 assists, Lili Bouwma was named Laxister of the game. Way to go Eagles!!
