SPRING LAKE HIGH SCHOOL: 15
In a tight game, Eagles Varsity falls to Spring Lake, trailing the Lakers 13-15. Goals were scored by seniors Lili Bouwma (5), Niya Couch (4), and by sophomores Halle Couch, Maggie Doyle, and Emma Visser. Midfielder Halle Couch was credited with winning 12 draws, and controlling 5. Sophomore goalie, Katie Hoeksema was credited with 3 saves. Defensive Player of the Game was awarded to the team for their cohesive defensive across the board. The team’s GroundHog Award was split three ways between Halle Couch, Niya Couch, and Leah Stransky, each scooping up 2 ground balls. With 5 assists, Niya Couch was awarded Laxister of the Game.
