Grand Rapids Christian hosted Rockford in the season opening game for both schools on Thursday the 29^th at Eagles Stadium.  After a scoreless first quarter, the Rams scored 17 unanswered points capped by a 45 yard field goal with only a few seconds left in the half.  The game was delayed at halftime due to thunderstorms, and ultimately postponed until Friday the 30^th at 1:00.  

The Eagles received the ball to start the second half and scored on a long run by Thaddius Gamble to cut into the Rams lead.  Gamble would finish the game as the Eagles leading rusher with 79 yards on 14 carries.  Later in the half, Eason Harduin connected on one of his 7 completions to CJ Jones for another Eagle touchdown. The Eagles added the extra point to get the score to 17-14.  Late in the fourth quarter the Rams would finally close the door and score on a rushing touchdown which ended up putting the score out of reach for the Eagles with time running out.  Harduin paced the Eagles comeback in the second half ending the game 18 of 32 passing for 298 yards.
