The Eagles Varsity Football team traveled to Zeeland to take on the Zeeland West Dux in the second contest of the season on Friday night.  

The Dux would open the scoring in the first quarter but the Eagles quickly countered with a 42 yard pass from Eason Harduin to Jordan Dockery to tie the game at 6.  After 2 more scores by the Dux, Thaddius Gamble would score his first of 3 touchdowns in the game for the Eagles with 27 seconds left in the half.  The Dux however, would go into halftime leading by 8 after both of the Eagles first half extra points were blocked.

Zeeland West would score the first touchdown in the second half only to be answered again by Thaddius Gamble with 28 yard touchdown yard to keep the Dux lead at 8 entering the fourth quarter.  After a trade of touchdowns by the Dux and Eagles early in the 4th quarter, the Dux would ultimately prove to much for the Eagles.  Zeeland West would add 2 late touchdowns to put the final score out of reach, with a final of 48 to 27.

The Eagles offensive effort was led by Thaddius Gamble.  He rushed for 67 yards and 3 touchdowns on 10 carries while also hauling in 4 pass receptions for another 79 yards.  Eason Harduin would lead the Eagles passing attack again, recording 15 completions on 24 attempts for 248 yards, with 1 interception.

Nick Christians and Davion Gillen were the leaders of the defensive unit, tallying 12 and 11 totals tackles respectively.
