The Eagles Varsity Football Team hosted the Wyoming High School Wolves on Friday, September 13th. 

The Eagles got rolling early in this contest and would never look back.  They opened the scoring in the first quarter with 2 touchdown passes by Eason Harduin.  The first to CJ Jones for 20 yards and the second to Thad Gamble for 37.  They continued adding to the lead in the second quarter with a trick play, half-back pass from Ronin Russell-Dixon to Jordan Dockery for a 23 yard touchdown.  After a rushing touchdown by CJ Jones, Josiah Woltjer scooped a fumble by the Wolves quarterback and returned it for a 62 yard touchdown to give the Eagles a commanding 34-0 halftime lead.

The Wolves would show some life in the 3rd quarter by trading a pair of touchdowns with the Eagles.  Grand Rapids Christian however, would close the door with a 4th quarter rushing touchdown by Eason Harduin to end the scoring and put the final at 54 to 14 in favor of the Eagles.  The win gives the Eagles their first of the season putting them at a 1-2 record overall.

Offensively, Eason Harduin led the team with 227 yards passing with 11 completions on 18 attempts and 4 touchdowns through the air and 5 total for the game.  Thad Gamble had another great game leading the team in rushing with 13 carries for 130 yards and added 3 catches for 87 yards and 2 touchdowns.  Jordan Dockery ended the game as the leading receiver for Harduin tallying 4 catches for 59 yards and a touchdown.

On the defensive side of the ball, JaMartae Hogan led all tacklers with 8 solo and 12 total for the game, followed closely by Nick Christians who added 7 solo and 9 total tackles.  Davion Gillen and Josiah Woltjer each had interceptions for the Eagles, with Woltjer also adding the fumble recovery for the touchdown.
