Friday was an exciting evening at Eagles Ice Center! It was a celebration of 50 years of GRC hockey. The evening began with an alumni vs alumni game and 40 former Eagles hockey players came to participate. They enjoyed a small reception afterwards while watching the current Eagles take on FHC.
Our Eagles showed the alumni their best and beat Forest Hills Central 5-2. Joshua Hooper scored the first goal on a Power Play in the first period. FHC scored early in the 2nd, but soon after Jack Micus found the back of the net making it 2-1. Shortly after that, Josh Trendt got a nice shorty making it 3-1 to end the 2nd period. The third started on a power play and Josh VanSchepen knocked one in. FHC answered back and made it 4-2, but Joshua Hooper got his second goal of the night sealing the 5–2 win. A great win and an enjoyable and memorable night for the Alumni!
Next, Eagles head to the Stan Konrad showcase in Muskegon on January 5 & 6.
