Game one vs West Catholic

The Eagles struggled to contain the offense of West Catholic, falling 16-4. West Catholic took the lead early scoring 8 runs in the top of the first and the Eagles couldn't recover. Abbe Diemer was on the mound for GRC. She lasted 5 innings, gave up 14 hits, 4 walks, and had 5 strikeouts.

At the plate the Eagles got things going right away in the bottom of the first scoring 2 runs by Ellie VandeGriend and Megan Hermen. Ella Koetje led the offense with 2 hits, 1 RBI, and scored 1 run. Greta Vance, Diemer, Bryleigh Anderson, and VandeGriend each had one hit. 

Game two vs NorthPointe Christian

The Eagles came out strong in their game against NorthPointe, but watched the lead slip away losing 11-9. GRC scored 6 runs in the first two innings, but fell short in the bottom of the second and gave up 7 runs. Abbe Diemer continued to battle on the mound for the Eagles. She lasted 4 innings, only gave up 5 hits, had 4 walks, and 4 strikeouts. 

At the plate the Eagles out hit NorthPointe with 7 hits.  Ella Koetje again led the offense with 2 hits, one of them an in the park homerun. Keira Porte had one hit, a triple to the fence. Each also having one hit were Renee Prins, Greta Vance, Abbe Diemer, and Ellie VandeGriend. 

The Eagles next game is Monday, May 2 at home vs Forest Hills Central.
