The Eagles delivered their grittiest performance against a deep Thornapple-Kellogg squad. Entering into the game with a shortened bench, the ladies suffered two key injuries leaving them with just five players. Through tough-nosed defense and improved rebounding in the second half, the team kept the game close all the way until the end. The Eagles finished the game in peculiar fashion having only four available players due to injuries and foul trouble, yet they had a chance to win it at the buzzer. After a rebound off a missed TK free-throw, the Eagles had a chance to win it at the buzzer, but the shot didn't connect.
Katelyn LaRue scored a game high 23 points through long range shooting, nifty drives into the lane, and an important 6 of 7 from the free throw line. Lydia Sall chipped in 7 along with a number of key rebounds.
The Eagles take on the Wolves of Wyoming on Thursday back at home.
