SOUTH CHRISTIAN HIGH SCHOOL: 30
Seven of twelve games this season have been decided by three points or less for the Eagles, and tonight was no different. The defense was great in the first half for the Eagles as they held the Sailors of South Christian to 14 points. The second half is when things got close. The Sailors emphasized their low post scoring and drew the game even in the fourth quarter. This was familiar territory for the Eagles and their experience paid off down the stretch. Lydia Sall scored the go-ahead basket on a rebound put-back as the Eagles were able keep their lead until the final buzzer.
Katelyn LaRue had a stellar game from the free-throw line, connecting on 9 of her 10 attempts, helping her towards a 20 point outing.
The Eagles will return home next week Thursday to face Covenant Christian before a rematch with Forest Hills Northern on Friday.
