JV Eagles Drop a Close One to Covenant Christian

The Eagles came out strong in a non-conference match-up against Covenant Christian Thursday night, jumping out to a 10-4 lead at the end of the first. Then the shots stopped dropping for the Eagles as they went into the break down 24-16. Defense picked up for the Eagles coming out in the second half holding the Chargers to only 10 second half points with tight pressure defense and improved rebounding from Paris Rodgers and Lili Bouwma. Unfortunately, not enough shots went through the basket in this one for the Eagles who were lead by Kaitlyn LaRue's 21 points. The JV Eagles are back at home next Tuesday to start the second half of conference play against Thornapple-Kellogg.
