Girls T&F:

The GRC Boys Track and Field team opened their season by sweeping Lowell and Greenville on Wednesday, drubbing Greenville by a score of 107-30 and defeating Lowell, 82-55.

The Eagles won nine events on the day, led by Rowan Cebulski's victories in the pole vault (9'0" and the high jump (5'0"); she was also second in the 100-meter hurdles, behind teammate Violeta Sanmarino's 16.60. Kijana Callwood earned the win in the discus (118'4") and finished second in the shot put (31'11"), while Madelyn Frens took first in the mile in 5:07.

In the sprints, Olivia Brunink won the 100-meter dash with a PR time of 13.02, while Anika Bouwman also set a PR to take second in the 400 (1:05.95). 

The Eagles dominated the relays, winning the 4 x 100 in 52.92 and the 4 x 800 in 10:17.63. In the days' final event, the team of Anika Bouwman, Payton Holtz, and Molly Padilla got the baton to Madelyn Frens just a few meters from the lead. Frens pulled even with a hundred meters to go and powered away down the homestretch to earn the Eagles' third relay win of the day.

The team returns to action on Saturday when they compete at the Houseward Invitational at Unity Christian. Come on out and support the Eagle athletes!
