Girls Varsity Track vs. OK White

The Eagles took first in the OK White final, edging out rival and neighbor East Grand Rapids. Because EGR beat the Eagles during the season, the Eagles will be co-OK White Champs. The two day finals saw the Eagles with a huge first day, scoring 70 points, a full 25 points ahead of the next team. The Pioneers slowly chipped away at the lead until the Eagles put the meet out of reach on the penultimate event. Top scorers on the day were KJ Callwood who took first in the disc and 4th in the shot. Violeta SanMarino who took first in the 100 hurdles, 4th in the 300 hurdles, 5th in the 200, and 3rd on the 4x100. Madelyn Frens led the distance group taking 3rd in the 4x800, 2nd in the 1600, and 1st in the 3200. But the big point scorer of the meet was Rowan Cebulski, scoring 32 points alone. She took first in the long jump and high jump, 2nd in the pole vault, and 5th in the 100 hurdles. The Eagles head to Ionia Saturday for regionals.
