GRC Eagles Lose Final Game Of Series To FHN
The Eagles gained an early lead in game one of Monday’s doubleheader, but a 4 run 4th inning for the Huskies was enough to beat the Eagles. Zeke Heerema started on the mound for the Eagles, going 5 innings while striking out 5, and surrendering 2 earned runs. The offense was led by Carson Custer who had two hits including a first inning double. Jackson Isaacs also added a run with a solo home run in the top of the 6th inning.
GRC was able to bounce back and win game 2 of the doubleheader, 6-1. The Eagles jumped out to an early lead in game 2, and were able to add on late in the game. Will Bush doubled, scoring 2 runs in the top of the first inning. Followed by an RBI single by Zeke Heerema. Will Doezema earned the win on the mound allowing only 2 hits and 1 run over 4 innings, while striking out 8. John Bakker pitched the last 3 innings, giving up only 2 hits, and zero runs. The Eagles offense tallied 9 hits in this game. Cannon Paul, Jackson Isaacs, and Will Bush each collected 2 hits. Will Bush and Breckton Meeuwsen each added 2 RBIs.

GRC couldn’t keep up with Byron Center and lost the final game of the series.

Saturday’s game against the Allendale Falcons was a heartbreaker for GR Christian, as they lost the lead late in an 8-6 defeat. GR Christian lost despite out-hitting Allendale 13 to 6.
Jackson Isaacs led the way for GRC with 3 hits and 4 RBI’s.
Parker Seth, Jake Koetje, and Will VanWingerden each collected multiple hits.

GR Christian Varsity Eagles Make A Run Against Forest Hills Central Rangers But Fall Short
Despite a 7-run deficit in the fourth inning, GR Christian almost came all the way back, eventually falling 11-12 to Forest Hills Central on Wednesday. GRC closed the gap by scoring 9 runs in the 6th inning.
Despite the loss, GRC did collect 12 hits in the high scoring affair. Parker Seth and Will Doezema each collected three hits for the Eagles. Paul, Custer, and Seth each drove in two runs. Jackson Groen collected 2 hits.
Game two of the double-header was suspended in the bottom of the 2nd inning and will be picked back up on Friday.

The first game of the Kurt Hoekstra era of Grand Rapids Christian baseball took place at Cornerstone University against the Sailors of South Christian. The fans got their money’s worth with 3 hours and 15 minutes of baseball over the seven innings. Zeke Heerema got the start, John Bakker came on in middle relief and Cannon Paul closed and secured the win for the Eagles with the score of 15 to 9.
Many Eagles contributed offensively with a notable triple from Junior Henry Streeter.
