Boys Junior Varsity Beats Forest Hills Central 61-47

Eagles Win: 61.00 - 47.00
The JV team welcomed Forest Hills Central to the Quest Center for their last game of the year Thursday night. The Eagles would win the game 61-47. Connor Johnson lead the Eagles with 14 points. Will Doezema added 13 points. Luke Olney came off the bench and scored 8 points. It was a great season for the JV Eagles. They finished with an 18-2 record. They went 14-0 in conference. These 12 boy were great to coach and I can't wait to watch them the next 2 years at the Varsity level! Go Eagles!

The JV boys welcomed Lowell to the Quest Center Tuesday night. The Eagles played a great game. One highlight of the game was the alley-oop from Ike Ondersma to Connor Johnson in the first half. The Eagles would  go on to win the game 78-19. For the 2nd time this year, all 10 Eagles would score in the game. Jordan Pruitt played a great game and finished with 8 points. Caden Hoving started the game and finished with 7 points. The Eagles will finish out the season on Thursday night at 5:30 in the Quest Center.

The JV Eagles traveled to Forest Hills Northern Thursday night for their last road game of the year. The Eagles were excited for the challenge of playing the Huskies. Connor Johnson got the Eagles rolling with an early first quarter dunk. The Eagles would score 38 points in the 1st half and lead at the half 38-23. In the 2nd half the Eagles would lock down the Huskies. They only gave up 2 points in the 3rd quarter. The 3rd quarter was highlighted by an off the back board alley-oop by Connor Johnson. The Eagles would take a 55-25 lead into the 4th. In the 4th Eagles got some great play from Oliver Strater and Banks McNinch. The Eagles would win 62-32. The Eagles return home Tuesday night against Lowell for a 5:30pm tip. Go Eagles

The JV Eagles welcomed East Grand Rapids to the Quest Center Tuesday night. The Eagles played a great first half. Will Dozema scored 11 of his 15 points in the first half to help the Eagles to a 33-20 halftime lead. In the 2nd half the Eagles continued their great offensive play. The Eagles scored 27 points in the 2nd half. They would win the game 60-44. The Eagles got great energy from Will Bush and he finished with 7 points. Caden Hoving played a great game with a couple of steals and assist. The Eagles will travel to Forest Hills Northern Thursday night.

The JV Eagles welcomed Northview to the Quest Center Thursday night. It was an exciting game. Both teams came ready to play. The Eagles would take a 34-33 lead into halftime. The Eagles would use a big 3rd quarter to pull away from Northview. The Eagles would go on to win 69-60. It was a great team effort with all 10 Eagles scoring. Braylon Taylor lead the team with 19 points. The Eagles will host East Grand Rapids Tuesday night at home.

The JV Eagles welcomed the Bulldogs from Byron Center Tuesday night. The game started out back and forth in the 1st half. Thanks to Will Doezema's 14 first half points, the Eagles would go on a nice run to end the half. The Eagles led at halftime 27-18. In the 2nd half the Eagles played great team ball. Connor Johnson would lead them with 11 second half points. The Eagles would win the game 52-43. The Eagles got a big boost tonight form Ike Ondersma. He played great defense and brought the energy for the Eagles. The Eagles will host Northview Thursday night in the Quest Center for a 4:00pm tip.

The JV boys hosted Greenville Friday night. The Eagles came ready to play in the 1st half. The Eagles would jump out to a 35-22 halftime lead. The 1st half was highlighted by Connor Johnson's back to back dunks.  The Eagles would continue to play great in the 2nd half. The Eagles would outscore Greenville 35-22 in the 2nd half. The Eagles would go on to win the game 70-44. The Eagles were lead by Connor Johnson who had 27 points. Will Bush brought the energy and scored 6 points. The Eagles will host Byron Center Tuesday night at 5:30 pm in the Quest Center.

The JV boys hosted Grandville Tuesday night. The Eagles came out ready in the 1st quarter scoring the first 11 points of the game. The Eagles would keep up the great play for the rest of the half and lead at halftime 40-32. The Eagles came out in the second half and focused on defense. They held the Bulldogs to 19 2nd half points. The Eagles would win the game 65-51. The Eagles were lead by Will Doezmea who had 23 points. Braylon Taylor had a great game scoring 14 points. Ty Moody added 8 points and 3 blocked shots. The Eagles will Greenville Friday night at 5:30.

The Eagles traveled to Forest Hills Central Thursday night for a conference geme.The Eagels came out in the first half and played great defense and held the Rangers to just 11 first half points. The Eagles lead 24-11 at the half. The Eagles came out a little slow in the 3rd quarter.The Rangers made a big run in the first 4 minutes of the 2nd half to cut the lead to 26-24. The Eagles thought responded with a huge run themselves. They finished the game on a 39-12 run. The Eagles won 65-36. The Eagles had a balance scoring attack with 9 players scoring. The Eagles will welcome Grandville to the Quest Center Tuesday night at 5:30.

The JV Eagles traveled to Lowell Tuesday night. The Eagles came out in the first half and played great on the offense end of the court, hitting six 3 pointers in the first half. The Eagles lead at the half 36-22. In the 2nd half the Eagles wanted to focus on defense and lock down Lowell. They did just that, holding them to just 12 points in the 2nd half. The Eagles would win the game 72-34. The Eagles  were lead by Conor Johnson who had 31 points. Oliver Strater had a great game off the bench finishing with 6 points. The Eagles will travel to Forest Hills Central Thursday night for a 5:30 tip.

The Eagles traveled to East Kentwood for a big match up with the Falcons Saturday night. The Eagles could never get in a rhythm on offense as East Kentwood played great defense and held the Eagles to 39 points for the game. East Kentwood won the game 50-39. Connor Johnson lead the Eagles with 14 points. Luke Olney played a great game off the bench. The Eagles will look to regroup Tuesday night as they to Lowell for a 5:30 tip.

The JV Eagles played host to Forest Hills Northern Thursday night. The Eagles came out a little slow in the 1st quarter trailing 10-9. The Eagles got going in the 2nd quarter and out scored the Huskies 17-4. The Eagles took a 26-14 lead into halftime. In the 2nd half the Eagles wanted to focus on defense and play more physical. They did just that by outscoring the Huskies 42-12 in the 2nd half. The Eagles won the game 68-26. The Eagles were lead by Connor Johnson who had 18 points. Ajak Gieu played a great game scoring 12 points. The Eagle's next game is Saturday at east Kentwood tipping off at 3:45pm.

The JV Eagles played East Grand Rapids Tuesday night. The Eagles were ready to play from the tip. The Eagles played a great first half, jumping out to a 41-15 halftime lead. The first half was highlighted by Connor Johnson who had a dunk on a fast break. The Eagles came out in the 2nd half and played well and won the game 63-27. Will Doezmea lead the Eagles with 20 points, including three 3 pointers. Ty Moody cam of the bench and added 7 points. The Eagles next game is Thursday night at 5:30 in the Quest Center.

The Boys JV traveled to Northview Thursday night for a big match up with the Wildcats. The Eagles jumped out to a 18-8 first quarter lead, and never looked back. The Eagles won the game 54-38. Will Dozema lead the Eagles with 16 points. Braylon Taylor chipped in with 15 points. The Eagles will travel to East Grand Rapids on Tuesday for a 5:30pm tip.

The JV guys traveled to Greenville for their first game in 2 weeks Thursday night. The Eagles were excited to play and it showed, as they jumped out to a 34-16 halftime lead. The Eagles would go on and out score Greenville 31-20 in the second half to win the game 65-36.  The Eagles had a balanced scoring attack with 10 players scoring in the game. The JV boys next game will be next Thursday at Northview for a 5:30 tip.

The JV boys basketball team played Grand Rapids Catholic Central Monday night at Cornerstone University. The Eagles jumped out to a 36-19 halftime lead. They were lead by Connor Johnson who had 18 first half points. The Eagles had the same energy in the 2nd half outscoring Catholic Central 38-24. The Eagles won 74-43. It was a great team effort. Ajak Gieu played a great game scoring 11 points. Banks Mcninch came off the bench and hit 2 threes and finished the game with 8 points. The Eagles will return to the court on January 4 at Greenville.

The boys JV basketball team traveled to Byron Center Friday night for their first conference game. The Eagles wanted to come out in the first half and compete. They did just that leading at halftime 26-18. In the second half the Eagles outscored Byron Center 33-18. The Eagles won 59-36.  Connor Johnson lead the Eagles with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Will Dozema chipped in with 10 points and 10 rebounds. The Eagles will travel to Cornerstone University Monday night at 5:30pm to take on Grand Rapids Catholic Central.

The JV boys from Grand Rapids Christian woke up early on a Saturday morning to play Hudsonville at Calvin University. The Eagles couldn't find any rhythm all game. They fell to a great Hudsonville team 35-53. The Eagles will regroup and travel to Byron Center Friday night for their next game.

The Boys JV Eagles traveled to Wyoming Friday night. It was a great game. The 2 teams went back and forth, each making runs. The Eagles took a 40-36 lead at the end of the 3rd. The Eagles outscored Wyoming 22-18 in the 4th to win the game 62-54. Braylon Taylor lead the Eagles with 18 points. It was a great team effort. Go Eagles!

Grand Rapids Christian JV boys basketball team hosted South Christian last night for their first game of the year. Both teams played great defense in the first half. The Eagles took a 16-13 lead into halftime. In the 2nd half the Eagles got the ball inside and use their size to take control of the game. Ajak Gieu and Braylon Taylor put the game away at the free throw line. They went a combined 8/8 in the final minutes. The Eagles won the game 46-38. Connor Johnson lead the Eagles with 21 points. The Eagles will travel to Wyoming Friday night at 5:30 for their next game.
