Freshman Basketball wins season finale vs. Forest Hills Central 54-33

The Freshman Boys Basketball team finishes their season with a big win over Forest Hills Central. The Eagles were determined to get their 15th win of the season and they earned it by playing team basketball. The Eagles had a balance scoring attack with 10 players getting into the scoring column. The team was lead by Will Ferwerda with 12 points, Charlie King with 11 points, Cam Renz with 8 points, and Felipe Martinez with 6 points. Malachi Sandberg, Connor VanDrunen, and Eli Clark provided some great minutes! With this win, the team finishes 15-5 on the year. The Eagles also finished the season by winning nine out of the last ten games. Congratulations to the Freshman Eagles on a great season!

The Freshman Boys Basketball team earned their 14th win of the season as they defeated Lowell High School on Tuesday. The Eagles would lead start to finish and play one of their best all around games of the season. The team stuck together and played hard the entire game. The Eagles had a balance scoring night with 12 players getting into the scoring column. Mason Abbott lead the team with 11 points, Cam Renz added 10 points, Eli Clark and Charlie King both pitched in 8 points. One of the main highlights of the night came from Cam Landheer hitting an impressive three pointer in the 4th quarter! The Eagles will return home on Thursday to host Forest Hills Central in the final game of the season. Go Eagles!
Freshman Basketball beats Forest Hills Northern 50-28

The Freshman Boys Basketball team played their last road game of the season and defeated Forest Hills Northern by a score of 50-28. The Eagles came out hot against the Huskies with 16-6 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Eagles would keep on the gas and take a 35-10 lead into the half. Ultimately, the team would put the game away and earn themselves their 13th win of the season! The Eagles played outstanding help side defense and shared the ball on offense. The balance scoring attack was lead by Charlie King with 14 points, Will Ferwerda with 7 points and Felipe Martinez with 5 points. Five other Eagles would chip in 3 points or more in the win! The team will round out their season next week as they host Lowell and Forest Hills Central. Go Eagles!

The Freshman Boys Basketball team earned a huge win over rival East Grand Rapids on Tuesday. The Eagles started the game with a 20-9 lead at the end of the first quarter. Later, the lead would grow to a 33-14 score at halftime. Ultimately, the Eagles would never look back and earn an 62-41 victory over the Pioneers. The team played unselfish by sharing the ball and playing outstanding team defense. The Eagles had nine players get into the scoring column tonight lead by Charlie King with 21 points. The team was on fire tonight from the three point line including multiple makes from King, Liam Jansen, Felipe Martinez, Will Ferwerda, Mason Abbott, and Connor VanDrunen.  The Freshman Eagles end their away game schedule as they head to Forest Hills Northern on Thursday. Go Eagles!
Freshman Basketball wins revenge game against Northview 43-38

The Freshman Boys Basketball team earned a huge win against Northview High School on Thursday night. The Eagles were focused and ready to seek some revenge on the Wildcats after suffering a tough lost to them earlier in the season. The first quarter would end up tied 9-9. The Eagles would come out strong in the second quarter with Mason Abbott, Will Ferwerda, Charlie King, and Felipe Martinez each hitting a three pointer. The Eagles would take a 27-16 lead into the halftime break. Later on, the Eagles would lead the Wildcats 38-24 at the end of the third quarter. The Wildcats would storm back and give the Eagles all they could handle in the fourth quarter. However, the Freshman Eagles would hold on to the lead and give the Wildcats their third lost of the season. King would lead the Eagles with 17 points and Martinez chipped in 8 points. Great team win for the Eagles. They return to the court on Tuesday against East Grand Rapids.

The Freshman Boys Basketball team lost a tough battle with Byron Center on Tuesday. The Freshman Eagles had been looking forward to a rematch against a very good Byron Center team. The game was a back and forth fight with the Eagles taking a 16-15 lead into halftime. Byron Center would take the advantage heading into the fourth quarter. From there, the Eagles showed a lot of fight but the Bulldogs would hold the lead until the end. The team showed grit the entire game and never gave in. The Eagles will return on Thursday to host the Northview Wildcats.

The Freshman Boys Basketball team took care of business last night with an impressive 64-27 win over Greenville High School. After a 10-8 score to end the first quarter, the Eagles would go on an impressive 30-2 run taking them into halftime. The Eagles would score 25 points in the third quarter and ultimately put the game out of reach. This was one of the best all around team wins for the Eagles with everyone providing outstanding team defense and 10 Eagles getting into the scoring column. The team will return back to the Quest Center for a tough matchup with the Byron Center Bulldogs on Tuesday.

The Freshman Boys Basketball team returned back home on Tuesday for their last non-conference game against Grandville High School. The team played their best defensive half of the season as they took a 22-8 lead going into halftime. The Bulldogs would respond in the third and fourth quarter. The Eagles would rally together and hold off the Bulldog come back winning 44-40. The Eagles were led by Charlie King with 21 points. The team will host Greenville on Friday at 4pm. Go Eagles!

The Freshman Boys Basketball team picked up another win on Thursday by beating FHC 60-50. The team started off strong and took a 37-21 lead into halftime. The Eagles would continue to play hard coming out from halftime and finish the game with a win. The Eagles were lead by Charlie King with 19 points, Felipe Martinez with 11 points, and Will Ferwerda with 9 points. Mason Abbott, Liam Jansen, and Easton Howe played a great defensive game! The Eagles improve to 8-4 on the season and host Grandville next Tuesday.

The Boys Freshman Basketball team headed to Lowell on Tuesday for a matchup with the Red Arrows. The Eagles jumped out to an early lead in the 1st quarter. From there on, the Eagles would not look back. The entire team provided good energy and effort which helped the Eagles earn this team win. The Freshman Eagles are now 7-4 and return back to action on Thursday to face host Forest Hills Central.

The Freshman Boys Basketball team had the privilege of playing in the "GOTTA GET IT" Hoop Classic at East Kentwood High School on Saturday. The Eagles were excited to play against a well balanced team in East Kentwood. The team provided outstanding effort all night but fell short to the Falcons. Charlie King and Liam Jansen lead the team with double figure scoring. The Eagles will head to Lowell on Tuesday for a 4pm matchup. Go Eagles!

The Freshman Boys Basketball team returned home on Thursday for their first game in the Quest Center. The Eagles jumped out to an impressive 26-15 lead going into halftime. The Huskies would storm back in the third quarter, closing the gap to a 6 point lead by the Eagles. The Freshman Eagles would eventually work together to win the game by a score of 41-39. This was a great team win with multiple guys contributing in many ways. The team was led in scoring by Charlie King with 20 points. Cam Renz, Mason Abbott, and Felipe Martinez all contributed multiple baskets for the Eagles.

The Freshman Boys Basketball team picked up a big win on Tuesday night as they traveled to East Grand Rapids. The Eagles were excited for this rivalry game and jumped out to a 14-7 start to the first quarter. The Eagles would never look back and finished the game with a score of 52-32. The entire team contributed on both ends of the floor. The Eagles were led in scoring by Charlie King with 16 points, Will Ferwerda with 10 points and Mason Abbott and Cam Renz chipped in 7 points a piece. The team returns home on Thursday to take on Forest Hills Northern. Go Eagles!

The Freshman Boys Basketball team played a very competitive game but ultimately fell short to Northview HS. The team fought hard and battled with the Wildcats up until the very end. The Eagles were led by Cam Renz with 10 points and Will Ferwerda with 8 points. It was a great team showing by the Eagles and they will look to improve next week as they take on East Grand Rapids on Tuesday.

The Freshman Boys Basketball team returned back to the hardwood after a couple weeks off from games. The Eagles would head to Greenville for a matchup with the Yellow Jackets. The boys would take a 18-4 lead into the second quarter and never looked back. The team was led in scoring by Charlie King with 22 points and Will Ferwerda with 12 points. Great team win for the Eagles!

The Boys Freshman Basketball team earned an impressive 57-32 victory over rival Grand Rapids Catholic Central at Cornerstone University. The Eagles finished the game with a very balanced attack with all eleven players getting into the scoring column. The team was lead in scoring by Charlie King with 12 points, Easton Howe with 8 points, and Mason Abbott with 7 points. Go Eagles! 
Freshman Boys Basketball falls short to Byron Center

The Boys Freshman Eagles put up a great showing on Friday night but fell short to host Byron Center. The Eagles played hard the entire game and took a 35-34 lead into the 4th quarter. Byron Center would eventually pull ahead to win the matchup. The Eagles were lead by Will Ferwerda with 13 points and Charlie King with 12 points. The team is looking forward to their next matchup against Grand Rapids Catholic Central on Monday at Cornerstone University.

The Freshman Boys Basketball team got an amazing opportunity to play at Calvin University this past Saturday against Hudsonville HS. The Eagles were in a tight battle all game with an 18-17 score at halftime. After a tough third quarter, the Eagles would eventually fall short in the end. The team will look to regroup this week as they head to Byron Center on Friday for a matchup with the Bulldogs.

The Boys Freshman Basketball team picked up their first road win against Wyoming HS by a score of 56-38. The team was led by Will Ferwerda with 30 points. The entire team provided great effort and earned a hard fought win! Go Eagles!
