Girls Freshman Basketball Just Fall to Forest Hills Northern

Eagles Lose: 38 - 47
The girls freshman team came out strong in a conference rematch and their final game of their season. The game immediately started better than last time with great full court pressure and a big 3 pointer from Payton Holtz. Micah Heerema also largely controlled the boards and scored 3 baskets in the first quarter. Ella Wolters came alive in the 3rd quarter to keep the Eagles close. Beza White led the team on offense along with Payton Holtz who both had 7. The Eagles had a great first season of high school ball and showed great improvements all around.

Eagles Lose: 12 - 42
Tonight the Eagles faced a tall and tough Sailor team, but kept the game close for the first quarter with great team defense. The Sailors found some pace in the second quarter and kept the Eagles off the boards as their shots were not falling. The Eagles went into halftime down 14 and the Sailors continued to increase their lead into the 3rd. Cameron Sorrelle led the team in scoring and found great stops on Defense. The Eagles are back Tuesday night to finish up conference play.

Eagles Lose: 31 - 46
Northview traveled to the Quest Center Thursday for another rematch of a conference opponent. The Eagles came out strong and showed very visible improvement since their last matchup with the Wildcats. The bigs controlled down low with great baskets from Olivia Thomas and Micah Heerema. While they found great runs in the second half they could not ultimately get back to even with Northview. Cameron Sorrelle, Rachel Larsen and Olivia Thomas each ended with 6. The Eagles travel to South Christian Saturday for a nonconference matchup.

Eagles Lose: 25 - 35
The Eagles traveled to TK to face an old conference opponent Tuesday. From the start, the Eagles competed and were able to end the first quarter leading by 3. However, some missed defensive stops in the second quarter had them trailing into halftime. The girls rose to the occasion and fought hard until the end with some great team stops, but could not make up the difference. Beza White led the team in points followed by Payton Holtz.

Eagles Lose: 21 - 58
The Eagles traveled to Wyoming for a non conference match-up Saturday night. The girls immediately noticed a fast paced, tall and strong Wyoming team and tried to adjust right away. Ella Wolters led the team with strong drives to the basket, ending as the leading scorer. Cameron Sorelle also did her part and added some pace to the Eagles offense. The girls return Tuesday night at FHC.
Girls Freshman Basketball Loses to Byron Center

Eagles Lose: 24 - 42
The Eagles had a tough start Thursday night when the Bulldogs came out shooting hot. After a 15 point deficit in the first, the girls found a way to tighten the score with some needed baskets from Maggie Doyle and Cameron Sorrelle. They found some stretches in the second half where they scored, but they were not able to close the gap. Leading on the day was Vivian Roberts followed by Micah Heerema.

Eagles Win: 28 - 18
The freshman Eagles came out hungry for a back to back win tonight against Greenville. They were strong from the start and kept Greenville from scoring in the first quarter. Payton Holtz hit a three pointer as a highlight in the first. Vivian Roberts had a very consistent game ending as the team's high scorer for the night. Anna VanHeulen also had two big buckets to contribute to a high scoring 4th quarter. The Eagles return Thursday at home. 
Girls Freshman Basketball Gets the Win At East Grand Rapids

Eagles Win: 30 - 28
The Eagles traveled down the street ready to fight on Saturday. They were back to full strength and you could tell that fired them up. It was a slow start in the first but two big shots by Cameron Sorrelle in the second gave them the pace they needed. Beza White added some important shots in the third and she ended as the team's high scorer with 9. Sorrelle and Olivia Thomas each added 6. The Eagles return Tuesday. 
Girls Freshman Basketball Loses to Covenant Christian

Eagles Lose: 11 - 43
The Freshmen Eagles had another competition tonight with a strong and tough Covenant Christian team. The Eagles were able to hold the Chargers in the first quarter with some big defensive stops. Olivia Thomas led the team in points and added 6 blocked shots. Ella Wolters added some great buckets in the second half. The Eagles will be back Saturday against EGR.

Eagles Lose: 11 - 46
The Eagles struggled offensively against a tall and deep FHN team Tuesday night. While they found some stops down the stretch, they could not make up for it on offense. Ella Wolters led the team in scoring helped by a couple baskets from Rachel Larsen. The Eagles are back tomorrow against Covenant Christian.

Eagles Lose: 19 - 43
The Freshman Eagles faced a competitive and big Wildcat team Friday night of winter break while down a few players. Northview put on a full court press that was difficult to beat with a short roster and some early fouls, but Olivia Thomas added some baskets to keep the Eagles in the game. Thomas finished with 8 points and Ella Wolters added 5. The Eagles return Tuesday night.

Eagles Win: 36 - 20
The Freshman team returned to competition Tuesday eager for another win. Ella Wolters came out strong with a couple baskets in the first and the continued to set the pace for the Eagles finishing with 13. Vivian Roberts followed suit with some big shots in the second quarter and finished with 10, Maggie Doyle added 9. The Eagles will be back for more action Friday night at Northview.

Eagles Lose: 32 - 34
The freshman Eagles fell in a very close game against the Byron Center Bulldogs Friday night. It was a slow start for the girls but they managed to claw their way back in the second half with 6 players contributing baskets in the third quarter. They came up just short even with a basket at the buzzer by Violet Talsma. Maggie Doyle led the team with 8 points and Payton Holtz added 5. The Eagles will be back Monday with more non conference competition. 
Girls Freshman Basketball beat Greenville Senior High School 49-15

Eagles Win: 49 - 15
The freshmen Eagles had an exciting first team win against the Greenville Jackets. The girls came out strong and scored 13 points in the first quarter. They adjusted well to a zone defense and went into halftime winning convincingly. Beza White led the team with 17 points, followed by Rachel Larsen with 7 and Micah Heerema with 6. The Eagles will travel to Byron Center Friday for more conference action.
