The Eagles endured a challenging start and a very tough Unity Christian team to capture the MHSAA Regionals with a 313. Unity shot 320. Leading the Eagles was Dylan Clark with a 77. Following him was John Cassiday with a 78, Alex VandenBerge with 79, and Max O'Grady with a 79. Those four guys also took home individual honors as the 3rd, 4th, and T5th place scorers in the tournament.  Congratulations to the Eagles on a great season so far. With 10 days remaining in the season, the Eagles look to improve in many ways before participating at the Meadows (GVSU) on June 10 & 11. It is a great accomplishment to earn that opportunity, and a lot of work from June last year, until now, has paid off in this opportunity to compete on the final days of the season. We never want to take that honor for granted! Go Eagles!

To be eligible players had to play in 5 of the 6 jamborees and the conference tournament. Dylan Clark was an honorable mention with the 11th best league scoring average. It was a cold, windy day for golf at Yankee Springs. Being mentally and emotionally tough enough to spend 6 hours playing golf in that weather is an accomplishment in itself, but to perform well was another accomplishment altogether.  Entering two teams in this event, the players chose to split up the teams as equally as they could. Most teams played six players, and we played only 5 per team (a slight disadvantage). However, both teams finished in the top 4! Very exciting. In fourth place was the team of Alex VandenBerge (82), Dylan Clark (88), Max O'Grady (82), Josh Pastoor (88), and Parker Noesen.  In first place was the team of Nicholas Sherman (73), John Cassiday (80), Adam Workman (81), Nathan VanOtteren (86) and Ford Erickson. They shot a 320 overall, placing 17 shots ahead of the second place team South christian and 20 shots ahead of our other team.  Nicholas shot the low round of the tournament with his 73 (1st). Also placing in the top ten was John Cassiday (6th), Adam Workman (8th), Alex VandenBerge and Max O'Grady (T-9th). A great day for the Eagles overall.  There is so much we can continue to improve on and we look forward to our next opportunity Monday at Ironwood in OK White Jamboree #1. The OK white may be one of the toughest leagues in the state and we can't wait to play against the best. Go Eagles!
