The Eagles got on the board first in the 1st inning after Isaac Anderson and Brandt Alles scored runs. Then, in the 3rd inning, Alles singled and scored, Jonas Mulder scored, and Tyler Zeck singled and scored (one of his 3 hits in the game). After two more scores in the 4th, the Eagles scored five more in the 5th, giving some breathing room for the starting pitcher, Mulder, who struck out two Falcons over 2.1 innings.

Grand Rapids Christian JV Eagles Grabs Late Lead for Victory Over South Christian Sailors
The Eagles from Grand Rapids Christian topped South Christian, 6-5 on Monday, after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at five runs apiece in the top of the 6th inning when Alberto Aliaga singled, scoring Dane Fitzgibbon, the leading run.
The Eagles were the first to get on the board in the 1st when Breckton Meeuwsen drew a walk with the bases loaded. The Sailors took the lead in the 3rd inning, but a double by Meeuwsen scored Fitzgibbon, Will Bush, and Isaac Anderson to go back on top, 5-3. The following half-inning, South Christian tied it back up.
The pitching combination of Will Ferwerda, Luke Olney, Ike Ondersma, Bush, and Anderson amassed 15 strikeouts in 7 innings of play. Fitzgibbon led the Eagles with a pair of singles and runs, while Meeuwsen hit around three Eagle runners. The Eagle lineup practiced patience, getting walked 11 times.
