After striking first in the 3rd inning, FH Northern were held scoreless until the 6th inning, where they scored six runs. The JV Eagles placed two runs on the board in the 4th and 5th innings to tie it up, but couldn't make the comeback. Tyler Zeck singled to bring home that tying run in the 5th. Will Ferwerda went five strong innings, striking out two Husky batters. Dane Fitzgibbon, Luke Olney, and Zeck collected hits for the JV Eagles. Isaac Anderson drove in a run and stole two bases.

Luke Olney drove in four runs on two hits to lead the JV Eagles past FH Northern in Game 2 of the doubleheader. In the 1st inning, he tripled, scoring three runners. Another triple by Isaac Anderson gave the Eagles the lead in the 2nd inning, 7-6. In the 3rd inning, Dane Fitzgibbon singled on a full count, making the score 8-6. The JV Eagles spread three more runs over the 4th and 5th innings to extend their lead. The Huskies from FH Northern couldn't make the comeback this time.

The Comets came back in the fourth and fifth innings after tying the Eagles. Will Ferwerda led the Eagles with two hits as Fitzgibbon, Ferwerda, and Henry Meyer each drove in one run. The JV Eagles's effort to come back from being down six runs in the 3rd inning came up just short, as they fell to Byron Center on Monday at the Gainey Athletic Complex. In the bottom of the 5th inning, the Eagles flipped the game on its head, scoring six runs to take the lead, led by Will Ferwerda's two-run single. However, the 11 team hits weren't enough to hold onto the victory.

The Grand Rapids Christian JV Eagles were defeated by the Byron Center Bulldogs in Game 2 of the doubleheader, 10-1. The JV Eagles struggled to put hits together as the sun set on the evening. Led by Breckton Meeuwsen's double and Brandt Alles' single up the middle, the JV Eagle batters found fatigue to be their enemy. Luke Olney and Will Ferwerda combined for 7 innings, 8 strikeouts, 65% strikes thrown, and 2 earned runs on the mound.

Luke Olney collected three hits in four at-bats, as Grand Rapids Christian defeated the Falcons of Allendale, 12-2 in the first game of the doubleheader. Olney singled in the 1st, 3rd, and 4th innings.
The Eagles got on the board first in the 1st inning after Isaac Anderson and Brandt Alles scored runs. Then, in the 3rd inning, Alles singled and scored, Jonas Mulder scored, and Tyler Zeck singled and scored (one of his 3 hits in the game). After two more scores in the 4th, the Eagles scored five more in the 5th, giving some breathing room for the starting pitcher, Mulder, who struck out two Falcons over 2.1 innings.
Luke Ekkens came in relief and finished the game with five strikeouts over 2.2 innings.
Anderson and Breckton Meeuwsen scored 3 runs apiece while both Olney and Anderson knocked in two Eagle runners each.
The Eagles got on the board in the 1st inning again, scoring five Eagle runners. Scattering six more runs over the next six innings. The Falcons had a late resurgence and scored enough to remain in the game until the very end. The basepaths were burning with Eagle feet, as the Eagles stole 13 bases as a team, taking extra bases when they could.

Grand Rapids Christian JV Eagles Grabs Late Lead for Victory Over South Christian Sailors
The Eagles from Grand Rapids Christian topped South Christian, 6-5 on Monday, after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at five runs apiece in the top of the 6th inning when Alberto Aliaga singled, scoring Dane Fitzgibbon, the leading run.
The Eagles were the first to get on the board in the 1st when Breckton Meeuwsen drew a walk with the bases loaded. The Sailors took the lead in the 3rd inning, but a double by Meeuwsen scored Fitzgibbon, Will Bush, and Isaac Anderson to go back on top, 5-3. The following half-inning, South Christian tied it back up.
The pitching combination of Will Ferwerda, Luke Olney, Ike Ondersma, Bush, and Anderson amassed 15 strikeouts in 7 innings of play. Fitzgibbon led the Eagles with a pair of singles and runs, while Meeuwsen hit around three Eagle runners. The Eagle lineup practiced patience, getting walked 11 times.
