Girls Varsity Track vs. MHSAA State Finals

Eagles Lose: -
The Eagles finished 7th, with 22.5 points in the MHSAA finals Saturday at Forest Hills Eastern. Represented the Eagles were 12 girls. Ife Ayoola finished in 15th place in the shot put. The 4x100 meter relay team of Alayna McGowan, Paige Ferwerda, Marie Line Henderson, and Allie Groenenboom finished 21st. Payton Holtz finished 11th in the 800 meter run. Naomi Nelson took 12th in the 3200 meter run. The 4 x 800 team of Ellie Scholma, Anna Triezenberg, Sarah Timmer, and Payton Holtz took 9th, narrowly missing all-state by less than 1 second.  The Eagles scoring all came from just two girls. Rowan Cebulski was all-state in incredibly 3 events! She was 8th in the pole vault, 6th in the 100 hurdles, and 4th in the high jump. Natalie VanOtteren took 5th in the 1600 and then took 1st in the 3200!

Eagles Lose: -
The Eagles had a narrow led over rival EGR with two events to go. After the penultimate event, the 3200, the meet was essentially over. Natalie VanOtteren and Naomi Nelson took first and second, putting the meet out of reach for East or any one else in the 14 school regional at Sparta. Final score: GRCHS 111, EGR 102, Middleville 90. The Eagles will have representation in 10 of the 17 events at the MHSAA finals on June 3. Moving on in other events: The 4x800 meter team of Nelson, Payton Holtz, Sarah Timmer, and Ana Triezenberg. Holtz also qualified in the 800, and Nelson as noted above in the 3200. Natalie VanOtteren qualified in both the 3200 and the 1600.Ife Ayoola throw a PR in the shot put to advance to the final. The 4x100 relay team of ZaNya Mosley, Paige Ferwerda, Marie Line Henderson, and Allie Groenenboom advanced by placing 2nd. Finally, Rowan cebulski had a special day, qualifying in 4 events, the maxium allowed. She won the high jump, and also qualified in the long jump, pole vault, and 100 hurdles.

The Eagles took third in the OK White JV meet Monday at Eagles Stadium. Highlights of the night included Alayna McGowan running a PR in the 200 and ending third. Robyn Tatko also ran a PR 800 and finished third. Natalie Brinks PR'd in the 100 hurdles finishing 5th, then finished 2nd in the 300 hurdles. Ife Ayoola and CJ Bremer teamed up to go 1st and 2nd in the disc, while Audrey Brouwer PR'ed in the pole vault and ended third.  The Eagles compete in regionals Friday at Sparta.
Girls Varsity Track vs. OK White Meet

Eagles Lose: -
The Eagles finished tied for third in the highly contested league meet wich saw the top 4 teams seperated by just 15 points. FHC won with 127, EGR 115, GRCHS 112, Lowell 112.  Field event highlights included Rowan Cebulski winning the high jump with teammate Abby Hoekzema in 4th. Rowan also took 3rd in the pole vault, and second in the long jump with teammate Nadia Schoon in 7th. Also scoring was Ife Ayoola third in the shot put, and Kidist Nelson and Violet Talsma going 3rd and 7th in the discus.  The Eagles took 2nd in the 4x800 relay with Payton Holtz, Anna Triezenberg, Naomi Nelson, and Natalie VanOtteren. Payton also took 4th in the 800.  Naomi took 7th in the 1600 and 3rd in the 3200. Natalie raced to 3rd in the 1600.  After a big night in the field, Rowan took 2nd in the 100 hurdles, with teammate ZaNya Mosley 5th and then 5th in the 300 hurdles.  Regionals are Friday at Sparta!

Eagles Lose: -
The Eagles cruised to a win in the rain Monday night in Greenville. Marie Line Henderson won the 100 and anchored the winning 4x100 relay. Allie Groenenboom won the 200 and also was on the 4x100 team along with Paige Ferwerda and Alayna McGowan. Other running highlights was the 1,2 800 meter finish when Natalie VanOtteren and Payton Holtz both PR'ed. Then, Naomi Nelson raced to a big PR in the 1600 running 5:14. The Eagles won all 5 field events when Ife Ayoola took the shot put and discus and Rowan Celuski won the pole vault, high jump, and long jump.  The Eagles compete in the OK White finals Thursday & Friday at Byron Center.

The Eagles won two dual meets Wednesday over Forest Hills Northern and Northview. There were many Eagle PR's on the night, The warmer tempertures and a slight tail wind was a welcome change for the Eagle sprinters, when 10 girls ran PR times in the 100 alone. Other big PR's included Allie Groenenboom's 200 meter win, Marie Line Henderson in the 100, and Rowan Celbulski in the 100 hurdles. Ife Ayoola won both the shot a disc. Her disc toss of 89'1" was her best ever.  The Eagles travel to Greenville Monday to end their dual meet season.

Eagles Lose: -
The Eagles finished in 2nd place, just 2 points out of first at the EGR classic Saturday. While Otsego edge the Eagles, there were still several great performances by Eagle athletes. Robyn Tatko raced to a second place finish in the 600 meter run. Anna Triezenberg ran a PR time of 5:42, taking 3rd in the 1600. Meanwhile, there were 4 Eagles running PR's in the 3200, when Ellie Scholma went 12:01, Sarah Timmer went 12:20, Annika TerBeek went 12:21, and Kiersten Schmitt ran 13:54. The distance medley team of Naomi Nelson, Katelyn LaRue, Payton Holtz, and Natalie VanOtteren took home the gold winning by more than 1 minute. Rowan Cebulski and ZaNya Mosley went 1,3 in the 100 hurdles, while Rowan and Abby Hoekzema went 1,2 in the high jump. The pole vaulters were also impressive as Rowan took first, with Anna Lindstrom setting a PR of 8'6" in third, and Anika Bouwman taking 6th.  Be sure to watch the Eagles at home Wednesday. Eagles Lose: -
The Eagles were able to win against FHN 125-10, but lost to host BC 81.5 to 55.5. Several Eagle highlights included Allie Groenenboom setting a PR in the 200 ( 28.9 ) while also running both sprint relays. Anna Triezenberg set a PR in the 800 ( 2:35 ), while teammate Annika TerBeek  did as well ( 2:39 ). Annika also PR'ed in the 1600 ( 5:40 ) along with teammate Sarah Timmer ( 5:43 ). Naomi Nelson ran a big PR in the 3200 racing to a 11:28. Rowan Cebulski tried the shot for the first time ever, and finished second with a put of 30'7". She won 2 other field events, the high jump at 5'2" and the pole vault at 10'. Ife Ayoola and CJ Bremer both PR'ed in the disc with throws of 81'11" and 78'10".

Eagles Lose: -
Although storms postponed the meet with two events to go, both meets have already been decided on points. The Eagles lose to FHC, but win in the dual against Lowell. Highlights of the meet so far included Natalie VanOtteren running a PR time of 4:58 in the 1600, Rowan Cebulski taking the 100 hurdles and the long jump, and Abbie Hoekzema winning the high jump with a jump of 5', tying her personal record.  The Eagles return to action next Wednesday!

Eagles Lose: -
The Eagles took first in the annual Christian Schools meet at Unity Christian, 29 point ahead of the host school. Highlights included Rowan Celbulski winning the high jump, pole vault, and 100 hurdles, and a second place in the 100 hurdles. Natalie VanOtteren won the 800 and 1600 and anchored the winning 4x800 relay. The Eagles also took the 4x400 relay with Allie Groenenboom, Anika Bouwman, Naomi Nelson, and Payton Holtzt running a season best time of 4:23.  The Eagles travel to Lowell for league action on Wednesday. Meet begins at 4:15
