Eagles Win: 2 - 1
It's been quite the run of games in the last two weeks for the Eagles Co-op hockey team.  They played Mona Shores in Muskegon and came out with a huge league win beating Mona Shores 2-1 making it 4 league wins in a row in 8 days.  In doing so the hockey team sits in first place in their league with 4 games to go.  Mona Shores outshot the Eagles in the first period 12-4, but only two of the shots were from in close as the Eagles did a great job of keeping the shots to the outside.  The best scoring chance in the first was by Colton Laufer as he had a breakaway and per the ref hit the post and the cross bar.  Many people in the arena felt otherwise, but the team kept battling.  In the second period the team flipped the script out shooting the Sailors 12-4.  Brody Baysore opened the scoring as he intercepted a pass and beat the Mona goalie over his glove to go up 1-0.  In the third period Mona evened the game off a scramble in front of the net.  With 2 minutes to go in the game Colton Laufer intercepted a cross ice pass and walked in on a breakaway and with the same move made no mistake this time as he put the Eagles up by a goal and the team went on to play a great last two minutes of defensive hockey to secure the win.  Brayden Melinn played well in net stopping 22 of 23 shots on goal.   The next game is a league game at home vs Jenison on Tuesday 31 at 6:00.
