2025-2026 Athletics Start Dates
The MHSAA has done a great job of continuing to work to help find balance in athletics by creating breaks in the seasons for athletes and coaches to be with their families. We love working hard to develop our gifts but appropriate scope is important also.Summer Dead Week: June 29-July 5 — this is the actual dead week where there is zero contact between players and coaches and no use of district facilities.Pre-Season Down Time: the week prior to each season there is "down time" where there are no open gyms or captains practices. Only 4-player workouts and conditioning are permitted. You can find our official athletics start dates for 2025-2026 here!

Become an MHSAA Official
Over 100 football and basketball officials have retired/resigned in the West Michigan area just this year. In addition, the girls and boys basketball schedule is compacted such that they are playing 3 days a week. Officials have gone from officiating 2 days a week to 5 and sometimes 6 days a week, with multiple games on each night. The number of high school athletics officials is becoming such that Freshman and JV games in a variety of sports may need to be officiated by coaches. The MHSAA needs more officials. Why should you consider be an MHSAA official? Ace Corey has been officiating for 15 year and this is what he had to say: It’s a great way to give back to the game that gave so much to me. I get to be a part of a team. It’s great for my physical health. It’s the best seat in the house. It’s great to work with kids and see their joy in what they are passionate about. Girls Junior Varsity Lacrosse defeats Grand Haven High School
Girls Junior Varsity LacrosseThe JV Eagles girls lacrosse team showcased their talent and hard work against Grand Haven to win 12-1 After a weekend off, the JV lacrosse team came ready to win, impressing the crowd with a dominating victory through their phenomenal passes, stellar defense, and determination throughout the entirety of the game. The girls started every draw off with grit, always working to box the Grand Haven girls out in order to obtain possession. The Eagles did this incredibly successfully! Rylee Anderson worked to get seven draw controls, and Sophia DeHoop, Mikayla Wolters, Lucy DeBoer, and Esther King each obtained one draw control. By working to get the ball right off the draw, the Eagles were able to get to work in the offensive zone right away, resulting in some quick goals! This ultimately helped keep the energy and momentum running! Throughout the game, many different eagles found the back of the net, and many contributed by assisting as well! Girls Junior Varsity Tennis vs. Multiple Opponents
Girls Junior Varsity TennisWe had a nice, sunny, and cool day out in Zeeland Saturday. Our girls participated in their second and last quad of the season. We won the first set 7-6 (7-5) in a tie breaker. We lost the second set 3-6. They gained momentum at the end and we lost 3-10 in the third set super tie breaker. Girls Junior Varsity TennisIt was our second match vs Forrest Hills Eastern this time at home. The Eagles came out and cooked from start to finish. We all played with enthusiasm and intensity. No pairings drop more than two games in a sweeping win 10-0. They all did such a great job and the scores reflect their play. But our performance of the day belonged to number 10 doubles Madeleine/Olivia. Madeleine did a great job of scrambling and setting her partner up. Olivia was a force at the net, putting away lots of volleys and overheads. Again, all the wins were notable, and we were all a force at the net today. Our girls continue to be determined, and laser focused towards the last half of their season. They got some goals that they want to accomplish. They've all improved so much since day one, and it's fun watching them develop as a team.
