Girls Varsity Golf State Tournament

Eagles Lose: -
The GRCHS Eagles Girls Varsity Golf team closed out the season with a top 10 finish at state on Saturday at MSU's Forest Akers East golf course. The team fired a 359 to place 10th overall in Division III in the state of MIchigan! On a cool, cloudy day, junior Sarah Muir fired a solid 89, freshmen Halle Couch shot a 98 and senior Annika Smits shot a 102 on a long, cold golf course. Congratulations especially has to go out to senior Ryann Breslin who shot her second consecutive tournament of 2 under par. On Saturday Ryann's incredible round of 70 included a state record 5 birdies in a 7 hole stretch and she birdied both of her last two holes to tie for first place in the state!
Congrats to the whole team on a great season!

The GRCHS Eagles Girls Varsity Golf Team finished in the top 10 at the state tournament this past Saturday at MSU's Forest Akers East golf course! The team fired a 359 to take 10th place in Division III in the state. Junior Sara Muir fired a solid 89, Freshmen Halle Couch shot 98 and senior Annika Smits added a 102 on a long course. A special shout out goes to senior Ryann Breslin for shooting a 2 under par 70 which was highlighted by a new state record of five birdies in just 7 holes! She also birdied the final two holes she played to tie for first place at the state tournament as an individual!

Eagles Lose: -
The GRCHS girls varsity golf team shot their best round of the season yet at our regional tournament on a tough Diamond Springs golf course on Tuesday. The team fired a 336 which tied for first overall as a team, but the tiebreaker 5th score went to South Christian. The second place finish advances the team onto the state tournament next Saturday at MSU's Forest Akers East course.
Congratulations to Ryann Breslin who is the regional champ as she shot an amazing 2 under par 70 to lead the team! Sara Muir fired an excellent 81 to place 3rd overall at regionals and Annika Smits shot a personal best 89 to take 10th place overall at regionals and medal as well. Niya Couch and Halle Couch rounded out the team scoring with a solid pair of 96's.
Congrats to the whole team and good luck at state!

Eagles Lose: -
The GRCHS girls golf team played in the OK White conference tournament on Wednesday at Thornapple Pointe golf course. Even with some tough weather conditions the Eagles fired a 352 team score which earned them a 3rd place finish. Senior Ryann Breslin won the tournament as an individual shooting an incredible even par 72. Junior Sara Muir and Freshman Halle Couch contributed solid scores of 92 and Junior Niya Couch rounded out the team scoring with a 96. The Eagles move on to their regional tournament next Tuesday at Diamond Springs.
Congratulations also to Ryann Breslin and Sara Muir as they were named All-Conference golfers in the OK White Conference for the 2020-21 school year!!

Eagles Lose: -
The girls varsity golf team lost a close match 193-189 vs Lowell at Arrowhead golf course yesterday. Halle Couch shot her personal best 44 to lead the team and Annika Smits added a 47 as another solid round. The team wraps up OK White league play tomorrow at Thousand Oaks and then plays the 18 hole conference tournament at Thornapple Pointe on Wednesday.

On Monday night the GRCHS girls golf team had their best showing in the OK White to this point in the season. Playing the back nine of Cascade Hills Country Club, the Eagles shot a 181 to take second place, only 2 strokes behind FHN. The Eagles were led by junior Sara Muir's stellar 40 (2nd place as an individual), senior Ryann Breslin's 43, junior Niya Couch's 47 and senior Annika Smit's 51.
The Eagles continue OK White play this Wednesday at Railside CC.

The GRCHS girls golf team took 3rd place at our OK White jamboree on Tuesday night. Senior Ryann Breslin fired the team's low round with a very solid 40, junior Sara Muir added a great score of 44 and junior Niya Couch and freshman Halle Couch each helped pace the team with a score of 50 on a tough Watermark golf course. Ok White play will continue for the team next Monday.

This past Friday the Girls Golf team competed in the Russ Johnsen Memorial tournament at Gracewil Country Club and shot a 381 as a team. Ryann Breslin fired a very good 79 and Sara Muir followed that up with a solid 87. This week we continue on with OK White conference play.

Ryann Breslin had the low round of the match with a 34, Sara Muir shot a solid 37, Taylor Dykhouse fired a 39 and Grace Poortenga and Niya Couch tied with a 44 to round out the team scoring.

The GRCHS girls varsity golf team defeated FHC 152-165 Tuesday night at Cascade Hills new Par 3 course. It was a strong start for the beginning of our regular season's play for the team. Ryann Breslin was the match medalist shooting a 33.

The GRCHS girls varsity golf team took 8th place shooting a 395 at our tournament at GVSU's The Meadows golf course this past Friday. Senior Ryann Breslin took 3rd place overall as an individual shooting a team low score of 81. Junior Sara Muir shot a solid 94 to contribute to the team on a very difficult course. Good start to the season ladies!
