Eagles Lose: 10 - 13
Grand Rapids Christian Varsity Girls Lacrosse suffered a devastating loss Thursday night, 10-13,  at home in their first regional game against Northview. Our Lady Eagles came out strong and traded goal for goal with Northview through both halves of the game.  For the last 5 minutes of the game, Northview was able to hold steady and make it difficult to gain back possession of the ball.  Eagles fought hard, Played well, and proved they are the Lacrosse family they have set out to be.  Our Defender of the game was Junior Elise Deyoung who, when goalie Katie Hoeksema was injured in a play, ran off the field and switched from Defense to Goal in minutes making the transition seamless for her team.  Special shout out to the “pit crew” who helped Elise with her quick change on the sidelines.  Junior Maggie Doyle was our Ground Hog with the highest number of ground balls scooped. Junior Halle Couch earned our Lax Sister award with the most assists. Queen of the Game, Junior Maddie Christians, never stopped running, cutting, & passing.  Goals were scored by Senior Ava Lynn Roossien,  Juniors Adia Sikkema, Elizabeth Mehney, & Halle Couch. Thanks to our fabulous fans!  Girls Lacrosse has had an amazing season and we are grateful to our school community, families, friends & fans for all of your support!
